Add an email account in Outlook 2010

... Step 1 ..

Go to the program Outlook 2010 on your computer and click on it to open it. You can find it by clicking on the button and on the menu select Programs>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.

.   If you use the program frequently you can find it on the main menu that shows up when you click the button.
 
.   You can identify the program Outlook 2010 through its icon
 
. Step 2 .

Please select on the top-left menu File>Info>Account Settings> Add account….

. Step 3 .

On the section Auto Account Setup, select the option “Manually configure sever settings or additional server types”, this option can be found on the bottom of the section, once you have selected it please click the button:

. Step 4 .

On the section "Choose Service”, select the first option “Internet E-mail” and then click on the button.

. Step 5 .

On the section Internet E-mail Settings the following information is required:

Your name: Type the name that you wish that the receivers see when you send then an email.
E-mail address: You must type the full e-mail address that was provided to you.
Account Type: You must select “POP3”
Incoming mail server: you must type “mail.yourdomain.com" that was provided to you.
Outgoing mail sercer (SMTP): type the same as the option above.
User Name: “youraccount@yourdomain.com”.
Password: your account password

Once you fill in the entire information click the button.

 
.   It is recommended to select the option remember password so you are not asked for your password every time you wish to check your mails.
 
.   Click on the Test Account Settings… button to make sure that the account is synchronized. If there is any incomplete or incorrect information, like your password, then you will be asked to correct it.
 
.   Make sure that your computer is connected to the Internet
 
.   Your domain is the section that comes after the “@” on you email address. For example, if your email address is “example@hotmail.com”, then you domain is hotmail.com
 
. Step 6 .

Once you pressed the button the advanced section of Internet E-mail Settings will show up:

Please select the menu Outgoing Server> My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and also the option Use same settings as my incoming mail server
 
.   Don’t click on the “Ok” button yet!
 
 
. Step 7 .

On the same section please select the Advanced menu an on the option Outgoing server(STMP) you must replace the number that shows up for the following “587”, once you have don’t it you can click the button.

It takes you back to the previous section; please click on the button.
 
. Step 8 .

Click on the button. Congratulations! You have successfully added an email account on Outlook 2010.
